Martin Luther proclaimed over 500 years ago justification by faith alone as the basic tenet of true Christianity. Any person who confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and believes in his heart that God raised him from the dead is justified by that faith, independent of any good works on his part. Good works should be the fruit of a Christian understanding his salvation.
