The doctrines that “God is in control” and “everything that happens is God’s will” have undermined the prayer habits of the Church. The earth is a war zone, and when we pray we participate in the spiritual battle. Our prayers speak into existence the legal permission for God to act in our lives. Prayer takes time and energy, but it makes a difference and is vital if we are going to live God-pleasing lives.
